With the colder season starting, everyone is getting flooded with posts, articles, and pictures of the “f/w trends of 2025”. And just like everyone, we enjoy seeing the combinations fashion lovers have claimed for this year. Not joining these short-term trends doesn’t mean you aren’t fashionable. Because at FIGO we believe the real trends don’t last for one season but are timeless pieces which make a comeback every single year. These are the 6 endless f/w trends you can find at our vintage store in Amsterdam-Noord.

Trench Coats (autumn)

Trench coats are a coming and going trending category in all shapes and sizes. One year, everyone is wearing the original floor length models, the next year the length has been halved, or they have been cropped. One way or the other, trench coats will always come back in the fashion world, as well as in our store. The beautiful thing about our vintage trench coats is that all are made with quality fabrics which have a long lifespan. This means that you don’t have to buy a new one when you see the new upside-down trench coat trend of next year, you can just flip the one you bought this year.

*Disclaimer: the cropped trench coat model isn’t a very vintage model, so a pair of scissors is your best friend for the people who love this look ;)

Wool Coats (winter)

If you are looking for a warmer coat, wool coats are the way to go. Just like trenches, these coats make a comeback almost every single year in various models, and understandably so, because they are just so warm and stylish. Wool coats have been around for a very long time in all shapes and colors, and we have managed to collect most of the different styles. And these coats are by far our highest quality category, they are made from materials like: Merino wool, cashmere, mohair, virgin wool, etc. If you would be looking for a newly produced coat, made 100% from one of these materials, you would end up at the Bijenkorf. And like Johan Cruijf once said: “You don’t want to be a thieve of your own wallet.” So, depending on your style (and the year), you will probably be able to find a high-quality coat you like. And lucky for us, short wool coats are very vintage as well, so you won’t need scissors to be trendy during the winter months! *Disclaimer: there may be a chance that long wool coats will be trending next year, and we don’t have a tool to lengthen anything… So, maybe do use scissors and reattach what you cut away next year?

Leather (Autumn)

Leather makes a yearly comeback, but in what form will always be the question. Will it be leather skirts, jackets, pants, boots, or tops? Only the fashion gods know beforehand, but we have found a way to outsmart them: everything leather! Instead of only putting out the leather category that is trending for the season, we put out them all and let you decide what your own leather trend is for the year(s) to come. Leather has a great durability and versatility with a little trick up its sleeve. This year the used-leather look is trending as ever, but when this changes, you can change your leather items to match the next trend, just by polishing it back to new.

Blazers (Autumn)

A nice blazer is one of those items that will never go out of style because of the many ways you can wear it. Looking for a jacket at a dinner party? Grab a blazer. Want a classy aspect for your casual outfit? A blazer will do the trick. Need to cover up because of the cold? Maybe grab a wool blazer, or a jacket, it’s up to you! It is the true day to night item, starting your day at the office and ending at the bar, or the other way around. Blazers are for everyone and every occasion, whether you like patterns, colors, wool, cotton, or linen, you will be able to find your trendy sustainable piece at FIGO.

Knitwear (Winter)

Maybe some of the simplest pieces to find vintage that somehow will always be trending, just in different colors or patterns. Luckily, most of these colors and patterns have existed for quite some time and are findable in vintage. And even though you will have to look for a new knitwear piece when the trend color changes to blue, you will have the bordeaux piece from this year in your closet for when it comes back in fashion, because vintage knitwear materials are last a lifetime when treated right (just for the love of God, wash it on a cold setting or even better by hand!).

Lammy Coats (winter)

Lammy coats are for sure timelessly controversial items, but let us show you our perspective. Lammy’s used to be made with real shearling, fortunately the rules for new production changed over the years to minimize the amount of animal slaughter for shearling and fur usage within the fashion industry. Almost all real shearling and fur has been replaced by its synthetic alternative: faux fur (plastic). Unfortunately, this “animal friendly” alternative depends on a chemical and very polluting process to be made, which isn’t a much better alternative if you ask us. Don’t get us wrong, we are very much against animal cruelty to fuel the fashion industry, but we think it would be a shame to let the fur that animals unfortunately already died for years ago, go to waste. We do have faux fur options for the people who (understandably) really can’t bring themselves to wear real shearling or fur. But whether you choose real or faux fur, second-hand and vintage will always be the most animal and environmentally friendly option!
